Born and raised in the small town of Porvoo, Finland, actor/director Vivi Laakko is based in Stockholm and Helsinki. With a degree from Stockholm University of the Arts she's worked with a number of different projects on stage and film.

Laakko´s directorial debut came in 2020 with her play Lucifers Lustspel and continues to this day. In 2022 her shortfilms series Lupaan Sinulle Muistoja (I promise you a memory) saw the light of day and she released its first two parts Nostalgia and Naapuri (The neighbour).

For her work she´s been awarded with grants from Konstsamfundet, Kulturfonden, Längmanska foundation and Leif Björkman´s foundation.
